Maria is a 34-year-old single mother of three children—ages 8, 11, and 14. She lives in a small rural village where employment opportunities are scarce. After her husband abandoned the family three years ago, Maria struggled to put food on the table. She worked as a casual farm laborer, earning less than $2 per day, barely enough to feed her children, let alone pay for their school fees.

The Turning Point:

In January 2025, Maria was enrolled in our Women's Vocational Training Program. She chose to specialize in tailoring and fashion design—a skill she had always admired but never had the opportunity to learn.

Completed the 6-month training program with distinction

Received a starter toolkit including a sewing machine, fabrics, and accessories

Registered her own small tailoring business: "Maria's Designs"

Currently serving 15 regular customers in her village
